Ansel Toney started building and flying Delta kites on his farm in Farmland, Indiana back in the 1970’s.

Ansel used Ripstop nylon, sewed the Delta sails with his wife’s old Victorian treadle sewing machine. He cut hardwood framing for his Deltas from boards he pulled off his old barn which dated back to the 1800’s. Kids from nearby towns would visit Ansel’s farm where he made them kites to fly.

The above video is from the CBS TV show “On The Road with Charles Kurault” when he featured Ansel in an interview.

It’s an HONOR for me to be able to include the Ansel Toney Kite Fly as a part of National Kite Month 2015 !
